10 on the Tenth

Ok, I'm too tired to figure out how to add the cute button to go with this post that came from  Mer's blog, but I wanted to join in.  I have two hours left of the 10th here in Mozambique so I still have time to play.  Warning: very random.

1.We have had people over for dinner two nights in a row.  I've done a lot of cooking, but it's been really fun to visit with friends and colleagues.

2.  This quarter I've been facilitating a small guitar class with 8 kids at my kid's school 2 days a week.  The kids are ages 6 to 11 and they are so cute and so good at guitar to be so young (one is my 9 year old!)

3. Avocados are in season right now and I love it.  They are so yummy.

4. I was by myself in the car yesterday and listened to the BeeGees without getting harassed by my family.

5.  Yesterday I learned the Portuguese word for "to mock" - zombar.  Thanks Rodger.  I think it will come in handy.

6. They are filling up the 400 potholes in the road that we drive down everyday to get out of our neighborhood!

7.  A local grocery store here had Keebler cookies from America last week!  I probably shouldn't admit that we paid almost $6 a package......but we only bought two.

8.  I had a long conversation with my friend Carmina today and she only looked confused twice. (See previous post).

9.  It is very normal here to see ladies walking down the street and nursing their babies at the same time.  I think about how when I was nursing my baby I had to sit in a special place with a special pillow in a quiet room with a glass of water. I'm such a ninny.

10.  My teenage boys show affection towards each other by punching each other in the arm.  Very hard.  I do not understand boys.

Good Night.

Angie!!! It's Susan from the old OBU days. I'm playing Mer's Linky party today, and I had avocados for lunch, today as well. Yummo.

Have a great day!

YAY...so glad you decided to play!

I cannot tell you how much I love avacados. I eat them plain, but I have a real weakness for guac.

The BeeGees? Really? That made me laugh.

Potholes. Ugh. Glad they're getting filled.

Yay for you for being hospitable. I love having friends over for dinner...but haven't done that in awhile.

Love avacados! Yum!

I enjoyed number 9. I was like that with my first. We should be much more open with breastfeeding, I'm NOT talking about indecency, just more comfortable seeing a Mama nurse!

I don't know if I've "noticed" the pic of you and your hubs in your side bar. Verrry niiice.

Avocados WILL be served in heaven.

Won't they?

I'll listen to your Bee Gees if you listen to my ABBA.

I lurve having folks over for dinner, but it's so hard to do it back to back. Hat tip to you.

So cool about the guitar class. I'm thrilled that my kids are both learning. D is learning bass gtr, and J is learning elec. gtr. They're learning from a 16 y.o. very talented kid. It's great: less money and still lessons. Woo Hooo!

What a fun list - and yum about the avacados! Your blog looks so interesting, I'm going to have to come back and visit and see what life is like in Portugal!

I had to grin at #9 - I was comfortable nursing almost anywhere, but my busy little guy was so distracted... I suppose the babies in your town learn early to eat on the go! :o)

Hey, I just read this but then I had to go to your friend who started it's blog and find out what you were actually doing! :) Then I got homesick when I saw her pictures of Pikes Peak! Didn't know you like Avocado so was glad to learn something new about you. I like that you're random because I am too!
