Monday

I apologize for these bullet point posts - but that's how my thinking is running these days- so that's what you get.

*Last night I did my grocery shopping (at Walmart) after church, after 8:00 p.m., by myself! I think I'm going to make this a habit. I think there were only about 8 people at Walmart, no one was with me asking me to buy them anything, I got to take my time and I didn't have to wait in line to check out!

*This weekend a former student of mine, Alisha, came to visit. I was Alisha's first grade teacher in White Settlement, Texas, way back in 1994. She has permanent teeth now, no longer talks with a lisp and is married. She's all grown up! And that makes me feel very old. It was good to see her and catch up. She brought her wedding pictures and old middle school and high school year books so I could find other former students.

*Yesterday at church one of the teen girls sang and played guitar during our morning service. She was awesome. And it made me want to come home and pick up my guitar, which I haven't done much of in the last few months. I think girls who play guitars and sing are so cool. Especially when they are singing about/to the Lord.

*Our pastor preached two really great messages yesterday. In the morning he was in Hebrews. Loved this quote: "How can you say you have faith if you aren't reading God's word everyday? 'Faith comes from hearing and hearing comes from the word of God' paraphrase of Romans 10:17."

*I really, really miss Coleson. Sometimes unexpected things make me think of him and bring tears to my eyes. The other day I saw a picture of a mom reading a Mercer Mayer book to her son and that made me cry! I used to read Coleson a M.M. book called All By Myself, everyday, over and over. *sniff* I miss those days. However, I'm glad they are over, and I'm glad he can read to himself now, especially since he is reading macroeconomics and psychology these days.

*I'm very proud of Will who just had his first article published in the school newspaper! I'm so glad he has an outlet (albeit, small) for his writing skills besides his journal.

*RAIN! We got rain yesterday and we are very thankful. Even Texas, where the wild fires have been, got rain. Praying that they get lots more.

*It's now time to stop procrastinating and go tackle the laundry which I avoided all weekend.

*Bye!

Hi Angie!
On an earlier post you asked who the mystery people were who read the blog but didn't comment - well I am one of them. Well I WAS one of them. I intend to comment more from now on!
I felt so sad about you missing Coleson - I know I'll be in the same boat next year :-(
Love and hugs from England
xx

I love your updates, Angie, bullet points and all! Thanks for keeping us all updated. I haven't posted on my blog in an age... but I've been living life with two precious children - a 4 yr old doing 1st grade work (and loving it) and a potty training 21 month old (not loving it today). I hope your laundry got done... say - why are you still doing the laundry? Don't you have two or three children at home who could be doing that for you?! :)
