Please keep praying for my Dad. He's been in the hospital (again) since April 20 and will probably be there for another week. To make a long story short......low immune system, skin infection, pain continues from vertebra fractures, concerns about his liver, off meds to give liver a break, liver scan showed no huge problems. He's sick of being sick, sick of being in bed, sick of pain. Praying for him is NOT a waste of time, in my book.
And speaking of prayer, I LOVE hearing my kids pray. We aren't as consistent with our family devotions as we should be, but when we do it and they pray, it just melts my heart. I love to hear them talk to God like He's their friend and like they believe He is powerful.
My youngest boy will be 11 on Sunday. I told him when he was three that he could not get any older and I remind him of this all the time. He just rolls his eyes at me. He's taller, more intense about life and much more "tween" than this time last year. I was thinking yesterday that I really can no longer call him my little boy. Sad.
Last Saturday night I got to go out with the girls in my Bible study group (We are half way done with our Esther study and it's SO GOOD!) to celebrate my birthday (I turned 43 on the 21st). We had so much fun and laughed a lot. There were 8 of us - 3 Americans, 3 Brazilians, 1 Portuguese and 1 Dutch - all from such varied backgrounds and experiences. We all laughed and shared food. I wish we could do it every week!

Sorry to hear about your dad, Ang. It's hard to have sick parents (and scary to think we're old enough to have to worry about these things).

I will pray for your dad. My dad battled infection after (serious) infection last summer and it was exhausting for him. I get it. Keep us posted on his progress.

I love your Bible study friends, and I love that I got to meet them a year ago!! And I loved the Esther study--be sure to make the cookies at the end of the book!
