Happy Boxing Day

I hope you had a great day yesterday.  We have had a wonderful Christmas.  It was such a quiet and relaxed day.  I had cooked a lot ahead of time so all I had to do yesterday was  peel and mash the potatoes and reheat everything else.  That was nice.

Our colleagues Frank and Sharon had to remain in Maputo over the Christmas holidays instead of returning to their home up north, so we invited them to spend the day with us.  It was nice to visit with them.  After lunch we retreated to different corners of the house to talk to family in the US on Skype.

Charlie and Frank gave me one of the nicest Christmas presents yesterday - they fixed our washing machine!!!  It stopped working Monday afternoon and we waited all day Tuesday and Wednesday for a repairman to show up.  He never did.  I was not panicking but just telling the Lord that I trusted Him and knew that He knew we needed our washing machine.  Especially since we are leaving town tomorrow for 10 days.

Charlie and Frank took the machine apart before lunch, figured out the problem and fixed it......with duct tape!  After lunch they got it put back together and we started washing clothes.  Praise the Lord!  And thank you Charlie and Frank!

I'll try and post some pictures when I can.  We leave for South Africa in the morning and will return on Jan. 7th.  We will attend our annual prayer retreat with missionaries from Mozambique and the Indian Ocean Islands while our older boys go to camp. Then we'll hang around Joburg for a few days of R&R.

Happy Boxing Day to you, too, and a most Happy Washing Day! Thank you for the example to follow to just pray and trust, pray and trust. Sometimes I forget that one. Hope your trip is awesome.

Have fun in South Africa; R&R sounds really nice.
