I needed to move all of their little kid books from the shelf and store them in a bin to make room for the bigger kid books that they are reading now. Abby is only 7 but she is reading American Girl books, Junie B. Jones and Nate the Great now. Luke, who claims to not like reading, has recently started reading chapter books at night before bed. (The two teens have been reading grownup books for quite awhile now.)
I packed away many of our favorites - all of the old Bill Martin Jr. books - like Whistle, Mary, Whistle and The Happy Hippopatomi. Good Night Moon, The Very Hungry Caterpillar and 5 Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed went in the bin. I did leave out all of the Golden Books......they'll stay out for awhile. I know that they aren't great literature but my kids love them, even now. I also packed away the toddler books, you know the ones where you feel the textures or name the animals. It seems like it was just last year when we were reading those every day, several times a day.
Brown Bear, Brown Bear what do you see?

Going to hug my two year old RIGHT NOW! Sniff.
Save them for my little kids one day when they come visit Aunt Angie and Uncle Charlie!
I have the hardest time getting rid of books. We still have board books on the shelves; of course Rebecca is just 4, so that's not so bad, is it?
Love & miss you--
I love books and am *very* emotionally attached to some of ours.
