Single Parenting

I would just like to salute, take my hat off to, hug, cheer for - all you single parents out there.  I think this every time my husband is out of town.  Being a single parent must be the hardest job there is.  My MIL did it and I have thanked her many times and told her I don't know how she did it!

It's hard being intentional about parenting when you do it on your own.  It's hard to remember to get the school shirts washed when you are trying to get dinner on the table BEFORE 7:00 AND make sure everyone's homework is done and the pets fed and, and, and.  I'm not whining.  I'm just saying it's tough.  And I have a helpful spouse who, Lord willing, comes home on Sunday.  I am so thankful.

Yes!!! Yeah for "helpful husbands"!! I just made mine mad, though, when I told him that the idea of the recipe entitled "5 minute chocolate cake in a mug" was so that he could make his own and I wouldn't have to.

I guess we now know that the "helpful" one in our family is not me!!

It's not that I have anything against making desserts, but I have a strong aversion to making chocolate sheet cake in a LARGE pan and watching it disappear in a matter of 24 hours. All that hard work should be SAVORED not GULPED DOWN AT THE SPEED OF LIGHT!!!

DO I HEAR AN AMEN????
