Back in Moz

We arrived back in Mozambique on Saturday a.m. - exhausted but grateful to have had such a great trip AND to arrive with all SIXTEEN pieces of luggage! And the customs agents let us through without a hitch. God worked out so many things on this trip - it was so evident so we have been thanking him ever since.

We left Shreveport on Thursday afternoon and flew to Dallas. From Dallas we flew about 9 hours to London - our first time in England. After leaving our carry-on luggage in storage then getting a little turned around in the Heathrow airport trying to get out on the tube/subway we finally made our way into London. We didn't have much time for sightseeing. We walked from the underground station to Buckingham Palace then over to Westminster Abbey then to another train station and returned to Heathrow. We got back in time to retrieve our carry-ons, go through security, clean up a bit (FYI Heathrow Terminal 5, as great as it is, does not have bathrooms that are conducive to "freshening up" before and after international flights.) then we made it to our next gate.

We flew a little over 10 hours to Joburg Friday night. We arrived Saturday a.m. then got on another flight to Maputo, arriving here about 11:00 a.m. We were so thankful to see our friend Lynne Schmidt with her sons and her BIG VAN! All of us and our luggage fit in it. She had food waiting for us at our house. Our doggies and one cat were so glad to see us (one cat was hit and killed by a car while we were gone this summer!) and we were glad to see them.

So now we are trying to unpack and get over jet-lag. Saturday night I slept 13 1/2 hours straight! Last night however I was awake for several hours in the middle of the night.

The kids were happy to start back to school today. They were not happy about having extra homework to make up for missing the first week of school. Abby was so tired tonight that she asked to go to bed at 7:30.

Thanks to those of you who prayed for us as we travelled. We felt it!

P.S. I'm now a fan of British Airways!

I did pray for your journey home.

Thank YOU for praying for the folks behind that white fence. Thanksgiving, we are visiting both our families, so please continue to pray.

I'm sorry we missed one another! Even so, I can visit you here :)
Love,
Holly
