Afternoon at the Pool

Ok, so I got these last two posts backwards.....Saturday comes before Sunday. But I don't know how to switch them around right now. So now you'll get to see pictures of what we did on Saturday. We are members of a local pool. It's pretty inexpensive to be a member and it ensures that we have a place to swim on very hot days, of which there are many in Mozambique. On really hot days the public pools (which you still have to pay a small fee for) are so full you can't even fit another body into the water! The beaches that are good for swimming are at least an hours drive away. So we opted for joining this "clube". The pool sits right on the water so we can look out over the channel. Sometimes ships, sailboats or windsurfers glide by.

Saturday we spent the afternoon at the pool. It was fun to hang out with friends and escape the heat. (Saturday we reached 92 F...but it's still Spring so it will get much hotter and much more humid!)

There is Charlie, chillin on our blanket with friends.

Will is hiding his head behind the boogie board he is floating on.
He knew I was trying to take his picture.

Coleson is the tall one in the middle, tying up his swim trunks.
On the other side of the wall behind them is the street then
an apartment complex.

Abby (far left) and Luke (only boy) are soaking up the rays
with their friends Lucy and Mia.

When we got home I made chicken fajitas
for supper. This is where I roll out the tortillas.

Oh, and I edited that photo with photoshop. It's amazing!

It sounds like you had a good weekend! I remember going to Cape Town one June, and everyone was swimming and it was 25 degrees C in winter. Doesn't happen here, though! Sigh.

Eloping...ha. Now there's a thought. Cindy would kill us. But the thought did cross our minds...more than once.

Those tortillas are calling my name. :-)

P.S. I love your haircut in the last post.

Of course I will be taking zillions of photos! To whet your appetite, go to my archives for August last year. And April too, and see the photos of Switzerland!

Just found your blog. I always think it is intersting to see what is available in other countries. Thanks for sharing your life while you are ministring in Africa. I will check back again.

So is it summer now?
Praying for you Angie!
