8

We are finally celebrating Abigail's birthday tonight. She turned 8 on August 2nd but we were traveling and couldn't party.  Last weekend we had planned a big potluck supper with all of our friends but Abby got sick the night before AND we had no water so we had to cancel that.  So, tonight she finally gets to celebrate by having a sleepover with her best friends. They've eaten pigs-in-a-blanket and birthday cake (somehow seeing those two food items together makes me feel a bit nauseous), played a game and now are watching Bolt.  I can't believe she is 8.  I am so thankful for our girl - she's so sweet and thoughtful and mischievous and fun.

Thinking back 8 years ago to August 2001 is a bit strange - the world hadn't changed yet.  Do you remember what life was like pre-9/11?

Hope you've gotten sleep at the slumber party. Those two words send chills down my spine.

She's a doll - 8 is such a fun age.

I remember...my dad was still alive.

I remember that I could take larger sizes of deodorant and that I didn't have to show my lipstick in a baggie when I flew.

She's so sweet, Angie. It goes so fast...
