Back to School

Abby - 1st grade

Luke - 2nd grade

Will - 6th grade

Coleson -NINTH grade!!!!

The kids started back to school on Monday. As we drove away from the school that morning I felt a twinge of sadness......my oldest is starting high school and my baby is in first grade! Where did the time go?
I really enjoyed this post from my new friend Holly about babies - read it for yourself here. I loved it when my babies were babies. Sometimes I miss those days. (These days I am getting my baby fix from this sweet, sweet baby - Amani. You can read about his story here.)
I have enjoyed every stage they have gone through, though. I loved the baby stage but I don't miss the many days I walked around in a sleep-deprived stupor. I loved the toddler stage, but absolutely never want to re-live the potty-training days! I loved it when they started to school and learned to read. Although this meant Charlie and I could no longer spell secret messages to each other across the room. I love the way they get so excited about learning new things at school, like the names of the planets or what countries were involved in War World 2. And I think it's hilarious when they come home from school and tell me a new joke that I heard when I was in 2nd grade!
I was sort of dreading the teenage years, but so far, I think it may be the most fun! They can engage in adult-like conversations, they are funny, spontaneous, and independent. Yet when you least expect it, they need you - either with a hug, a word of encouragement, more food, or money for cell phone credit.

Precious, precious Amani. He is stealing my heart just seeing his picture.

Praying for your family today, Angie.
